Jeffrey AdkinsThe strength of our life is in its foundation. That foundation can be made of sand, or it can be made of stone. I was fortunate to attend Brooklane for nine years and receive an outstanding education. Although I did not always appreciate the discipline at the time, it has served me well in my adult life. Discipline instills values. My core values are honor, courage, and commitment. I learned those values at Brooklane, and now I practice them every day I’m currently stationed at Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard and am working to prepare the resident combat systems engineers for the arrival of the latest version of U.S. Navy nuclear ballistic missile submarines.

Jamey JohnstonI am blessed to have attended first through twelfth grades at Brooklane where I made life long friends. And it was in the halls and classrooms of Brooklane Baptist Academy that my life was placed in order and I received the direction necessary to put God first and give my all in this life to His glory. At Brooklane, I was taught the importance of learning and applying Biblical principles. More importantly, to never allow anyone to persuade me to deviate from those principles. This education was not just about academics, though the academics are top notch. Moreover, it remains the well balanced exposure and commitment to excellence in all areas of a quality education to include athletics, Biblical studies, the Arts and the Sciences. Because of the Bible centered, quality education I received at BBA, I successfully completing Naval Nuclear Power School, graduated with honors from Auburn University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, and as a Commander in the U.S. Navy, recently completed a Command Tour of a U.S. Navy Maritime Patrol Aircraft Squadron. My leadership philosophy is built upon a foundation of character, teamwork, and preparation to achieve excellence. This foundation of character was build in the chapel services and Christ centered teachings at BBA. It was on the basketball court, football field, and track that I learned the value of teamwork and preparation to achieve excellence.

Mikala PickensI am extremely grateful for the 10 years that I spent at Brooklane Baptist Academy. It was during this time that I was given an excellent Christian education and a strong foundational knowledge of the Word of God. Brooklane was so much more than a school for me. It was a second home. Because of the small, intimate classes and kind, caring staff I felt like more of a family member than a mere nameless student in the crowd. Along with a quality education in the arts and sciences, I also received a vast and comprehensive knowledge of the Bible that I still hold near my heart today. Upon receiving my bachelor’s degree in psychology from Sanford University, I know that I would have never been able to achieve this milestone without the strong foundation that I was given at Brooklane. I now intended to build on this foundation and utilize these strong moral values in my later pursuit of a PhD in forensic psychology to provided clinical counseling to those in the legal system.
